I pick you up from your Sanur hotel in the morning to beat the midday heat on the Bukit Peninsula. We drive south across the Mandara tollway straight to Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park in Ungasan. Arriving before the tour bus rush means we can walk the open plazas comfortably while the morning air is still fresh.
Inside the park, we walk through the monumental Lotus Pond, carved between sheer limestone cliffs, and look at the bronze and brass statue of Lord Vishnu riding the mythical bird Garuda. I will explain the engineering story behind its 28-year construction and the deeper meaning of the Amrita nectar legend from the Mahabharata that inspired it. We also stop by the street theater area where local troupes rehearse traditional Balinese dances.
After touring the grounds and visiting the viewpoint over southern Bali and Jimbaran Bay, we take a short drive to look at the nearby limestone cliffs of Ungasan. I will drop you back at your hotel in Sanur before lunchtime, leaving your afternoon free.
Hotel pickup in the Sanur area (lobby or front gate).
Wayan and The team arranged everything so well and made us feel very comfortable throughout the journey. He always will send quick response and clear doubts.
